SAQ reception Christmas 2019

I was convinced that my ZS6BKW antenna connected to the soundcard input was good enough to receive SAQ on 17,2 kHz.

When tuning started around 8:30 local time I noticed a faint signal. Double check on Websdr showed that they are transmitting, live stream on YouTube in the background. So plan B in a hurry.

RX = Icom IC 756 transceiver, searched my Datong VLF converter, battery dead of course. Connected the 50 MHz dipole and kept searching for a battery. Took an old power supply (-5 / 0 / +5 volts) and used that. We’re in business. Tuned the passband a little for best result.
Signal was pretty weak to me this time, but managed to copy some characters.
